Comparison of Adsorption of Methyl Orange on Carbonate Intercalated Mn-Al-LDH and Co-Al-LDH

چکیده
Adsorption capacities and adsorption equilibrium constant of methyl orange (MO) on carbonate intercalated Mn-Al-LDH were bigger than those of Co-Al-LDH. Based on the ARIAN model, adsorption of MO on Mn-Al-LDH and Co-Al-LDH surface in water was formed from two regions. In the range of 308-328 K, adsorption of MO on regions I and II of Mn-Al-LDH was exothermic and for both regions of Co-Al-LDH was endothermic, respectively. Adsorption sites of this process in both adsorbents were hydroxyl groups of Mn-Al-LDH and Co-Al-LDH. Adsorption of MO on these adsorption drastically decreased at pHs of 3.5 and 12.
