چکیده
In this research, nanoporous silicon was fabricated by Nobel metal-assisted chemical etching. Field-emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FSEM) was performed to examine the size of pores where it was found to be in the range of 19 to 67 nm. The purity of silicon was determined using EDX analysis. The optical properties of nanoporous silicon were investigated using Photoluminescence (PL), Ultraviolet (UV), and Raman analysis. The value of energy band for nanoporous silicon was found to be 1.7 eV using PL and UV analysis. The experimental value of energy band was compared with the theoretical value using Kubelka-Munk relation with agreeable results. Same Raman peak appears at wavelength of 519 cm-1 for both samples of pure and mesoporous silicon with different intensities of higher value for mesoporous silicon and lower one for that of pure silicon. These results make nanoporous silicon suitable for solar cells.
