چکیده
In this paper, the advantages and disadvantages of using aluminum powder in the formulation of commercial water-gel explosives, the preparation method of aluminum flake powder and its effect on the properties of water-gel explosive are investigated. commercial permitted water-gel explosives can be used for blasting in underground mines with methane/coal dust atmosphere due to the low flame generated during its detonation. Addition of aluminum powder to the composition increase the performance. but due to the high flame, it causes non-permitted classification and make the using the explosive in underground mines impossible. It also reduces the shelf life of the explosive through the water-aluminum reaction. Aluminum problems can be solved by using aluminum flake nanopowder. In fact, aluminum flake powder increases the performance and maintains the permitted classification of the explosive due to the low flame generated during the explosion. The hydrophobic coating of the flake powder also prevents the aluminum from reacting with water and dramatically increases the shelf life of the compound. Compounds containing aluminum flake powder can be used for applications that require high-performance, permissible cartridged explosives with a long shelf life.
