چکیده
Nanomaterials have gained a rising ground throughout the last few years because of their less toxicity, adjustable fluorescence, and physicochemical specifications. Carbon quantum dots are zero-dimensional spherical allotropes of carbon and are less than 10nm in size (ranging from 2-8nm). Based on their biocompatibility, remarkable water solubility, eco-friendliness, conductivity, desirable optical properties, and low toxicity, carbon dots have revolutionized the biomedical field, in addition, CQDs can emit fluorescence in the range from the UV to the near-infrared (NIR) region. Carbon dots also comply with green chemistry principles about their safe, rapid, and eco-friendly synthesis. In this work, we provide a strategy for the preparation of CQDs from the Apiaceae plant and their potential in biological applications. The structure and fluorescence properties of samples were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and UV visible spectroscopy (Uv-vis). It was found CQDs could emit blue fluorescence.
