Comparison of Adsorption of Alizarin Red S on Carbonated Co-Al-LDH and Zn-Al-LDH

چکیده
In this work, Adsorption of Alizarin red S (AR) on carbonate intercalated Zn-Al-LDH and Co-Al-LDH was investigated in aqueous solution and at pHs of 3.5 and 12. Based on the ARIAN model, adsorption isotherms of AR on these two adsorbents were formed of two regions. In regions I and II of them for adsorption of AR on Zn-Al-LDH, the process was endothermic but it was endothermic in region I and exothermic in region II of adsorption isotherms of AR on Co-Al-LDH, respectively. Adsorption capacities of Zn-Al-LDH for AR were bigger than those of Co-Al-LDH at 308-328 K and at pHs of 3.5 and 12. Adsorption sites of these LDHs for AR were hydroxyl groups located on them.
